To answer that question, we looked at the sea level records for Halifax, Canada.
The following graph shows Sea Level measured at Halifax, Canada since 1919. This was long before Anthropogenic Global Warming (AGW) could have affected it.
The data clearly shows that Sea Level rate-of-change for the last 100 years has not changed. The trend is linear with a coorelation coefficient (R-squared) of 0.9333
indicating a statitically significant probability that this is a true statement.
We often hear that Global Warming is increasing the speed of Sea Level rise and many areas will be under water soon. Tthe following graph shows the HadCrut4
Temperature Anomaly Data Set plotted against the Halifax Sea Level Record.
Note the 35 year cooling period from 1941 to 1976. This was when climate scientists were warning of us a coming Ice Age.
During this period, the temperature fell 0.4 C. There is absolutely no response to this reflected in the Sea Level Record.
If Global Warming was affecting Sea Level, we would expect to see an increase in the rate-of-change proportional to the rate-of-change in temperature.
This is clearly not evident.
Taking a longer look at sea levels, it is obvious that change is a constant and we are currently in a period that continues from the Ice Age.
It should be obvious to anyone that the rise in sea levels that we are observing is a continuation of a process that began thousands of years ago
and NOT a result of anthropogenic global warming as some would have you believe!
